Deep Decarbonization and Rapid Electrification in Indiana

How can Indiana, with one of the highest carbon intensities of any state and of any country in the world, meet the net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emission goals of the Paris Climate Accord by 2050?


It is a tall order. To answer that question in significant part, Energy Matters Community Coalition commissioned a study by Synapse Energy Economics.


On May 16, 2022, Energy Matters submitted the study to the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission as a “stakeholder” alternative to the Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) filed last December by Duke Energy Indiana. The materials are attached below.
